Rotation in 3 axis

Hello,
I'm new in Java Programming. I have a 3d synthetic character and I try to rotate the shoulder in an abritary axis. I'm trying to find a way to rotate a segment in the 3d space. Please if someone knows how to accomplish that I would be gratefull to let me know
