Java 7 rumbles along

Things have been a bit quiet in the Java world lately, so I might as well point you at a few items of interest regarding the upcoming Java 7 release.

• Alex Miller has a handy list of what's new. Of interest is the continuing flux in regards to Java modularity (JSR 277 out, JSR 294 in).
• Will Java 7 be the most multilingual Java release yet? Danny Coward has an update on how JDK 7 will work with all those other JVM languages.
• It looks like the Swing Application Framework is going to miss the Java 7 boat, which may give fuel to those who think that, for better or for worse, JavaFX is replacing Swing by stealth.
• Future-forward developers might be interested in Project Coin, which hosts "small language changes" for JDK 7.
