Using java.lang.reflect.Proxy with Swing

I'm working with the java.lang.reflect.Proxy class and i18n for an application because I remember reading an article sometime around 2000 on how to do this cleanly. Unfortunately, what I have isn't exactly the clean interface that I remember, nor is what I've done very portable to other toolkits right now.
Does anyone remember an article like this and where I can find it again? I'm pretty sure it was a JavaWorld article, but for some reason I just can't locate it.
