New and need input

Basically here is what I would like advice on.

I am currently attending school via the University of Phoenix...yeah okay many seem to have problems with this school and it is said many companies will not hire students from this school; however, I attend it and I would appreciate, unless you have really good reasons...do not comment about my choice of education because I find it very beneficial. The online environment stresses the use of ones own abilities to discover information.

So any way...to the questions at hand...

At present, I am pursuing an AA in IT/Visual Communications, and my plans are to continue on with a BS in IT/? where the ? is when I have choices. My choices are Web development, which over the course JAVA is used along with other Web technologies. My second option is Software engineering, which again includes learning JAVA along with .NET technologies. So, my question to the professional masses is...which one should I pursue in the bachelors program?
