servlets

i want to know if Tomcat 5.5 wud work with jdk 1.6 or not becoz i m reading frm the book on java for the web by budi kurniawan and i searched for the error 404
when i use the browser to run my servlet......and i followed what the solution to it was given that i had to make a package and then finally run the servlet ...........the prob still exists :-( .............
