newbie interested in java/script, start with html

Hi folks sorry for such a newbie question....
I am developing a java script i think it is... and just
have comcast storage. So, it starts from an html page...
I want the page to refer to my java file....
how do i reference it in html, so it will start?
and does anyone know if a regular comcast account will run java, or
do i need a special website... If so, what would be a good one that runs java?
