Today's weirdest rumor: Dell to buy Sun?

That's right, you heard it here first! Well, OK, I actually heard it first from 24/7 Wall St., which brings up the rumor only to poo-poo it, for all the reasons that you can imagine (reason one: it would be TOTALLY INSANE), but just the fact that the rumor is apparently circulating makes my mind boggle a little bit. The idea is that HP bought EDS, and Dell might vaguely be thought of as being in the same business as HP, and likewise EDS and Sun, and, um, mergers are fun! Except for this one, which would no doubt be an epic disaster. Plus, as 24/7 Wall St. points out, "Sun has enough trouble that it may not be an [acquisition] target at all." Ouch!
