JavaNode is hosting solution for your development project.

JavaNode has integrated all required tools for softwere development with accent on java langauage. bugtracker(Redmine), source code server, continuous integration (jenkins), LDAP

Developing applications requires a set of tools such as bug tracking, source version control server, continuous integration server and deployment server. It is not easy to find server what provides all services and almost 0 configuration. This is review of hosting solution where you host everything in one place.

Save XLS & XLSX Files in Light Cells Mode, Enhanced Excel to PDF Conversion

The long awaited version of Aspose.Cells for Java 7.0.3 has been released. It includes saving XLS and XLSX files in Light Cells mode using LightCellsDataProvider. This gives users better performance for bigger files and improved the Excel to PDF conversion feature. This release also provides solution for clash between Aspose.Cells for Java and other JARs it was using (specifically woodstoxs-core and webservices-rt). Moreover a new method is also added for getting a list of colors for different objects used in a worksheet. This release includes plenty of improved features as listed below

DevOps will lead to a new set of dev and test tools

Very well written. DevOps will make applications reflect user behavior more closely with application changes all the time. The dev and test tools for continuous development are just becoming mainstream. We have just launched the first performance testing solution for DevOps - blitz.io - which you will soon see integrated in the leading PaaS platforms.

Eric, you are right, I can't live without keyboards. One can use touch screens and qwerty keyboards of smartphones more than 30 min in a stretch. They are meant for Tech savvy people and not techie. For enterprise where a person spends 9-10 hrs a day doing serious stuff still a high performance PC is preferred than accessing a app from cloud on iPhone.

Eclipse ... Hmm

i follow your point and like it.. though tldr all of it. Your criticism of Eclipse is controversial though. the plain SDK/JDT (i use 3.7) distro has gave me evidence of none of your instability claims, the jee stuuf is pretty fair also. Growing the IDE past that takes just a bit of expertise and common sense. and extending yourself is a piece of pie in the std usecases :)

Premature?

Seems a bit premature to be calling this a victory for open source. It'll take a year or two to see whether the project has picked up momentum as an "independent" open source project before knowing whether it's benefited or not.

Let's not forget that OpenOffice started out as a closed source product (StarOffice)...

Ebase Xi V4.1 to include java

Ebase make a RAD platform for web app development called Ebase Xi. The platform is fully loaded with browser UI design facilities, workflow, inetegration capabilities and so on. At present all business logic is handled via its own scripting language called FPL.

In our next major release we're thinking of porting the designer to eclipse (or netbeans) and supporting Java as the processing language (and possibly other script-based languages that will run in the JVM).

QCon or Javaone ????

My company allows me to visit one international work related (I'm Java/JEE Developer/Technical Lead interested in polyglot programming) conference each year. I've visited Javapolis (devox) in the past.
For this year I'm looking for a conference which is less technology but a bit more methodology focussed... possible like Oracle Develop or QCon or Javaone What would you recommend?

Netbeans missing window

I deleted the Design window in Netbeans by mistake. I inadvertently clicked the top right corner of the design window and it now gone.

How do I get it back?

I have tried Window, Reset Windows but did not work. I have checked other options in Netbeans but can not see anything.

I have tried uninstaling Java and Netbeans and then reinstalling but the Design window is still gone.

I have tried Google but have had no luck.

I am on Netbeans 6.9.1

Any help appreciated
