Dan's feedback: Acegi security for JSF apps
      #125032 - 04/21/08 01:58 AM

Dan wrote:

The problem with using Acegi with JSF is that the following filter mapping does not trap the navigation to a view ID when using Facelets. It depends on the JSP/Servlet mechanism and is thus operating at too high a level.

<filter-mapping>

<filter-name>Acegi Filter Chain Proxy</filter-name>
<url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
<dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher>
<dispatcher>REQUEST</dispatcher>

</filter-mapping>

This is especially problematic since JSF always posts back to URL and then performs navigation. Thus, there is no way to secure the navigation event when using Facelets.

Does that mean that the stuff described in the tutorial won't work?
