SOA is not WebService
      #18923 - 06/16/05 11:23 PM

Though WebService is one of the key enabler of SOA, it is not good idea to compare the WebServices principles as SOA elements. SOA is an architecture modal or an architectural pattern and it's key elements are Services, Service Repository, Service Bus and Applications or another Services that invokes the services through a well defined interfaces. This enforce that webservice is not the only way to implement the SOA model.

We are considering buying an ERP that is bragging about how it uses SOA - but it requires a greater hardware investment (client needs more memory and faster processor) than Web services ERPs do. Do all SOA's end up forcing the client to do more processing?

Well, Grid and SOA are jointly evolving. A SOA application may use more resources but on the other side a grid infrastructure can cost less.

Using this kind of Architecture only block ur mind to think beyond the limitation. our need of time is not based on java/.net or any other Tech. but have to thnk upon a architecture which can combine all the application which connect to themselves in a free way.....with less resourses and less manipulation.
