Even if my CPU has multiple processors, if I start one java program (process) with multiple threads, does it guarantee that it uses all the available processors, I dont think so. I think in windows, on java program can at max use only one processor

On my 4 processing core system, running the concurrent version of k-means with 4 threads definitely uses all 4 cores. Open up task manager and watch the performance tab while running a multithreaded java application to be sure.

Why do you think that? Which JavaVM do you think works that way? Sun's?

I thought on the Windows XP, even though you have a quad core or duo core processor, Windows XP only see this as a single processor. Correct me if i am wrong?
thanks
