Scott Davis on Groovy programming for Java guys

In this discussion Scott Davis asks the question "Why write 35 lines of code when you could write three?" Any die-hard Java developers out there who want to answer that? More to the point: how does Groovy fit into your Java programming practice? If not Groovy, then which other language(s) have you begun integrating with your Java code? Where do you think scripting works for Web development, and where do you still need Java to get the job done?
