If the author claims to be a journalist, he/she shouod be fired. This is not balanced reporting. In fact, it makes no attempt to seek professional opinions from anyone but an unkown architect. What do other pundits have to say? What influences are at work in this deal? What are the optimistic and pesimistic scenarios? Where is the qualified reporting? To claim that this deal is good for Java without any real support is like suggesting that the chairs are now more easily rearranged on the Titanic. While this may be true, the overall condition may not be very desirable in the end.
