Manning publishes books on Struts and Lucene

In Struts Recipes, authors George Franciscus and Danilo Gurovich present a collection of algorithms and techniques that show how to accomplish tasks not addressed by Struts features. Many recipes describe how to integrate Struts with other third party libraries.

In Lucene in Action, authors Erik Hatcher and Otis Gospodnetic present a guide to the Lucene open source search engine. The book describes how to index data, search, sort, filter, and highlight search results.

Sunopsis Integration Suite now available

Sunopsis has introduced a suite of products for addressing data and application integration requirements. The Java-based Sunopsis Integration Suite features the following tools: Sunopsis ETL, used for batch data movement; Sunopsis ActiveData, a data-driven application integration environment; Sunopsis DataBus, an inter-application bus that provides event-oriented integration; Sunopsis DataServices, which exposes enterprise data as Web services.

nVision Software announces AppVision-SLM Version 2

nVision Software Technologies has updated AppVision-SLM, a service-level management server for maximizing J2EE availability. Version 2 includes application baselines, application monitoring, enhanced self-diagnosis, customized error handling, error event recording, custom configurable views, and application server additions.

Advanced Installer For Java 2.3 now available

Caphyon has released version 2.3 of its Windows installer authoring tool, Advanced Installer For Java. Version 2.3 adds support for installing Internet shortcuts, modifying projects from the command line, and logging while running a MSI.

Vanward updates quality assurance tool

Vanward Technologies has released Convergence 2.0, a developer quality-assurance dashboard that tracks application quality early in the development lifecycle. Convergence enables teams to understand and report on application quality by tracking and relating test status, coverage, and output; source code and code changes; package and class dependencies; code size, complexity, and coupling; and test/bug report relationships.
