Finalists announced for JavaWorld Editors' Choice Awards

Find out which Java tools and technologies made the final cut

In the spirit of awards season, JavaWorld proudly announces the finalists for its 2002 JavaWorld Editors' Choice Awards. Established in 1997, the awards recognize innovative companies, organizations, and individuals for their commitment to developing new Java tools and technologies that drive the platform forward. Finalists were chosen from more than 200 products and technologies nominated by vendors, readers, as well as JavaWorld editors and writers.

Through a rigorous selection process, JavaWorld's panel of expert judges -- made up of JavaWorld contributors -- participated in several rounds of voting to determine which products or technologies most deserve finalist status. In choosing the finalists, the judges carefully weighed each product or technology on the basis of its features and functions, as well as its impact in advancing Java as a language and/or platform.

Please note that finalists are listed in alphabetical order per category. One winner will be named in each category and all finalists will be honored at the JavaWorld Editors' Choice Awards ceremony on March 25th during the JavaOne Conference and Expo in San Francisco.
