ej-technologies introduces Java installer

June 20 — ej-technologies has released install4j 1.0, a Java cross-platform installer that helps software developers deploy applications in a platform-specific way. The tool creates native application launchers and media files for Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and Unix. install4J includes Java application launchers with support for redirection, flexible class path construction, and native libraries; dynamic JRE (Java Runtime Environment)/JDK finder and JRE bundling; customizable and controllable splash screens; and more.

M7 adds Borland support

June 20 — The M7 Application Assembly Suite, an enterprise assembly technology from M7, now supports the Borland Enterprise Server, Team Edition. The tool also integrates with JBuilder, Borland's Java IDE, and StarTeam, Borland's software configuration management system.

Systronix ships network module

June 20 — The JStick Real-Time Java Network Module is now available from Systronix. The tool supports J2ME/CLDC (Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition/Connected Limited Device Configuration) and features a 32-bit aJile aJ-100 Real-Time Java processor. It executes 15 million to 20 million Java byte codes per second.

Altaworks updates Panorama

June 20 — Altaworks has released the latest version of its J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) Web application performance management software. Altaworks Panorama 2.5 lets performance analysts and quality assurance professionals create a performance profile of an application during system and stress testing.

Dralasoft integrates products

June 20 — Dralasoft has launched Dralasoft Workflow, a suite of tools for designing, deploying, and managing business processes in Java environments for embedded and IT infrastructures. The tool suite integrates other Dralasoft products: Dralasoft Workflow Engine, Workflow Studio, and Workflow Manager.

June 20 — Orixo is a new European consortium that provides XML- and Java-based support and services. The company offers commercial services around Apache Cocoon and related open source projects.

NextApp announces new products

June 20 — NextApp has introduced Echo Web Application Framework 1.0 and Sierra Toolkit 1.0. Echo is an open source platform for developing component-based, event-driven Web applications. Sierra, a commercial offering for Echo, provides intranet-oriented components and a sample application that demonstrates an intranet.

mdthread now available for free download

June 20 — mdthread.org has released the message-driven thread API, which enables creation of deadlock-safe multithreaded programs. A user base for the mdthread API is currently being built so it can gain acceptance into the java.lang package of the next JDK via the Java Community Process.
