Inca X introduces IDE and runtime for Jini 2.0

June 27 — The Inca X IDE and Runtime environment for Jini 2.0 allows Jini service developers to write, compile, test, and deploy services within the Inca X environment. The tool comes preconfigured with all core Jini 2.0 services.

Systinet enhances WASP Server

June 27 — Systinet has made available WASP Server for Java, 4.6, a Web services infrastructure platform. The 4.6 release features improved support for asynchronous Web services and full support for SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) 1.2. The server also supports the Java Web services APIs, including JAX-RPC (Java API for XML-based Remote Procedure Call), JAXM (Java API for XML Messaging) and SAAJ (SOAP with Attachments API for Java).

Glue 4.1 now available

June 27 — The Mind Electric (TME) has updated its Glue Web services platform to version 4.1. This latest release supports SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) 1.2; features improved IDE plug-ins for Eclipse, JBuilder, and IDEA; enhanced support for advanced WSDL (Web Services Description Language) capabilities; and more.

PolarLake announces new version of database integrator

June 27 — PolarLake has launched PolarLake Database Integrator 3.0, the latest version of the company's tool for integrating relational databases with XML and Web services. Version 3.0 includes a new transformation engine.

RedHill Consulting introduces Simian

June 27 — Simian is a tool from RedHill Consulting that identifies duplicated lines in Java and C# source code. Simian can run through more than 400,000 lines of code in less than 50 seconds.

ej-technologies introduces Java installer

June 20 — ej-technologies has released install4j 1.0, a Java cross-platform installer that helps software developers deploy applications in a platform-specific way. The tool creates native application launchers and media files for Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and Unix. install4J includes Java application launchers with support for redirection, flexible class path construction, and native libraries; dynamic JRE (Java Runtime Environment)/JDK finder and JRE bundling; customizable and controllable splash screens; and more.

M7 adds Borland support

June 20 — The M7 Application Assembly Suite, an enterprise assembly technology from M7, now supports the Borland Enterprise Server, Team Edition. The tool also integrates with JBuilder, Borland's Java IDE, and StarTeam, Borland's software configuration management system.

Systronix ships network module

June 20 — The JStick Real-Time Java Network Module is now available from Systronix. The tool supports J2ME/CLDC (Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition/Connected Limited Device Configuration) and features a 32-bit aJile aJ-100 Real-Time Java processor. It executes 15 million to 20 million Java byte codes per second.
