I left out some features from this series primarily because J2SE 1.4 (and CORBA 2.3.1) do not support them. These include the CORBA Component Model (CCM) Specification and the CORBA Messaging Specification. CCM provides an Enterprise JavaBean-type programming model for CORBA objects. The CORBA Messaging Specification defines an extremely rich asynchronous messaging architecture. Be sure to read up on both these specifications as they add much to enterprise development using CORBA.
